Cars of every year, make and model filled the streets of downtown Kenosha Saturday morning for the annual Kenosha Classic Cruise-In.
Also known as the “Downtown Car Show,” the Cruise-In drew in hundreds of cars and car enthusiasts alike.
Alex Kosterman, event organizer and member of the Classic Street Machines car club, said the show, so far Saturday morning, “has been perfect.”
“I would say we had over 500 cars before 8:30 this morning,” he said.
Kosterman said the show brings people of all backgrounds and beliefs together.
“When it comes to cars, everyone’s pretty much on the same page,” he said. “Everyone shares this passion, no matter what your religious background, or political background, it’s just a nice, peaceful show down here.”

Kosterman also credited the city for helping keep the show running smooth and coordinating with the car club.
“It’s already an amazing turnout,” said Kenosha Mayor David Bogdala. “It’s a beautiful day and we’re very excited to continue the partnership with car show.”
The show also draws both newcomers and returning people who come to show their cars.
Joanie Campbell, of Racine, came to the show for the first time with her 1959 Nash Metropolitan, which she has owned for 20 years.
“I saw the advertisem*nt a couple months ago for the show online, and I looked at my mom and I said, ‘I’m going to that show,’” Campbell said.
Campbell said she got the car because her dad, a Navy veteran, always wanted one when he was growing up.
“I had originally bought the car for him,” she said. “I actually got him out of the house in the car, took him for a ride, (and) he just had the time of his life.”
Jill and Tony Giorno, of Salem, have come to the car show for multiple years with their 1992 Ford Mustang, as long as they are in town for the Labor Day weekend.
Jill Giorno said Tony originally wanted the vehicle, “then I really took a liking to it.”
“It’s so much fun to ride in,” she said.
Tony said he acquired the car in a swap, after the original owner expressed interest in buying Tony’s motorcycle.
The show also attracts new and returning patrons.
William, Crystal and Jax Goetluck, of Caseyville, Illinois, came to the show for the first time as they were in town visiting family.
Jax, 5, said his favorite car was one of the green muscle cars, but shortly changed his mind when Bob “Chopper” Schultz let him sit in the driver’s seat of his sparkly fuschia pink 1970 AMC AMX.
Eloise Lent, 10, and her mother also visited Schultz’s vehicle, and go to the car show every summer before the school year begins.
Lent’s favorite part of the show is “seeing all the cool cars (and) seeing how pretty they are.”
