I grew up on the canned stuff. I have never been a fan unless I am using it to make corn casserole (so good, check it out). Then one holiday I tried Skillet Cream Corn, submitted on food.com by KittenCal (@kittencalrecipezazz), so darn good. I can eat a whole pan. A must-try recipe!
Tips for Making Homemade Creamed Corn
- You can use frozen or canned corn. When using frozen, make sure corn is thawed.
- If you are serving a crowd (more than 4 people), you will want to double the recipe.
- This recipe is easy to adapt. You can add heat with jalapeños and cayenne pepper. Crumbled bacon sprinkled on top is great.
- For less sweet, you can reduce the sugar or leave it out.
- Be sure to drain the corn well, both canned and frozen (if using steamer corn).
